Act Like a Kid Again
Do It Even When You Don’t Feel Like It
(Act Like a Kid Again)
There’s this thing that happens when you get older.
You stop doing things just because you are too tired, and you forget how to have fun. You overthink, over-schedule, and over-tire yourself into believing you “can’t right now.”
But let me tell you — most of the time, you can. You just don’t feel like it.
The Kid Inside You Already Knows
Have you ever noticed how kids don’t think twice? They just go.
My son will come up to me like,
“Dad, let’s go play basketball! Let’s jump in the pool!”
And what’s my first reaction?
Man… I’m tired. I just got home. I don’t wanna do that right now.
But every time I stop thinking and just say, “Alright, let’s go,” something flips.
Next thing I know, I’m out there laughing, running, sweating, having fun.
Thirty minutes later, I’m glad I did it. Every single time.
That’s the lesson right there.
Act like a kid. Stop talking yourself out of the moment.
Get Off Your Ass and Go Play
If you’re just sitting on the couch watching some lame ass show every day but you feel like “meh” most of the time, then get your ass up and go play.
Go outside. Go shoot a basketball. Go walk. Go laugh.
You don’t need two hours.
You just need to have a little fun and get moving.
Because when you move your body, your mood follows.
You stop thinking about how tired you are and start feeling alive again.
That’s the difference between just existing and really living.
Apply It to Everything
This isn’t just about playing with your kid or shooting hoops.
It’s about that vacation you’ve been wanting to plan.
It’s about that business you’ve been wanting to start.
It’s about that gym session you keep saying you’ll do “tomorrow.”
You’re tired? So what.
You’re always gonna be tired.
But here’s the truth:
If you’re gonna be tired anyway,
be tired on the way to your goals.
At least then the fatigue means something.
Sleep’s important, yeah — but so is doing the thing that moves your life forward.
And once you’ve built momentum, once you’ve hit some goals — then yeah, go take that nap.
But earn it first.
Don’t Feel Like It — and Do It Anyway
There’s a wasted space between “I want to” and “I did.”
Most people live their whole life in that gap.
But when you start acting, even when you don’t feel like it,
that’s when you build confidence. That’s when life opens up.
You start figuring it out — the balance, the energy, the rhythm.
And that’s when you realize:
You don’t need more motivation or energy.
You just need movement.
So next time you’re sitting there, scrolling, thinking about doing something…
Stop thinking.
I don’t care if you don’t feel like it — do it anyway.
Get off your ass and go live.
Bring that kid-like energy back.
You’ll be glad you did. Every. Single. Time.
